Home?
Houston doesn’t really feel like home.  I want to go back to Austin soon.

Merry Christmas to all!  I hope everyone gets what they want tomorrow.

H-town
Heading back to Houston for a bit.  Christmas shall be a good time I think.  I’m excited to read four books ALL IN TWO WEEKS.  They are pretty much all about art, which I thought I was taking a break from.  Oops.

Craigslist Sux
I really hate Craigslist.  Why was it even invented?  It just gives people headaches.  Does anyone need housing and want to live on Red River?  Please?

Being Back In Austin Never Felt So Good
I am back from Marfa, TX.  Surprisingly the drive back took less than it took to get to Marfa.  We got back to ATX in 7 hours.  Weird, huh?  Anywho, I’m glad that I am back in a big city.  I think I know now that I can’t live in a small town.  I have to be in a place with tons of people and things to do and places to go.  Don’t get me wrong though!  Small towns are quite quaint...

Destination Marfa: Arrived
I have arrived to Marfa finally.  The drive here took us 8 freakin’ hours.  Mapquest LIES.  LIESSSS!  They said it only takes 6 1/2 hours.  No.  I must tell the entire world that it DOES NOT take 6 1/2 hours to drive to Marfa from my apartment on Red River Street.  No matter though because I am here, in an apartment across from Ballroom Marfa and quite happy.  Tomorrow is photo...

Yessss
Oh hey, remember that time that I dreamed I got a D on my art history paper for Henderson’s class BUT REALLY got an A instead?!  Yes that’s right.  My nightmare did not come true and because of that, I am one happy person.  This paper for this class is justification enough that I chose a major that I am kind of good at.  For a while Henderson was freaking me out with her tests, but not...

The 7 Habits of Highly Happy People
m-altruism: Be a Part of Something You Believe In – This could be anything.  People may take an active role in their local city council, find refuge in religious faith, join a social club supporting causes they believe in, or find passion in their careers.  In each case the physiological outcome is the same.  They engage themselves in something they strongly believe in.  This engagement brings...

Let's Do Nothing
These past few days have been nice.  I’m on the verge of having nothing to do, but then I always remember that there is that one little thing that needs to get done.  Like that letter that I need to mail or that book I need to finish reading or, OH! that present I need to buy for that certain someone.  On Monday and Tuesday I think I’ll have things to do.  It’s Wednesday that I...

Christmas Shopping
The wontons in my Cambell’s soup look like tiny, fluffy pillows.  Either that or squishy envelopes.  I love the feeling of warm soup.  It’s so soothing sometimes. I’m going to go Christmas shopping with Elizabeth and Nancy at Half Price Books in about an hour.  Hopefully I find something for at least someone there.  Maybe myself?!?  Jkkkk…but kind of not.  I <3 books...

Hormigas
There were ants in our apartment after our little get together, so I went and bought Raid.  Now everywhere smells of poison and I think I might pass out.  Please, if you don’t hear from me in a couple of hours, come knock on my door okay?  Thanks. Also, I’m baking tonight.  Lemon cupcakes with some lemon frosting on top, maybe.  Tonight feels like a citrus kind of night.  I might even...

Marfa, TX
So, I am going on a little trip to Marfa.  I’ve never been somewhere by myself before.  I am excited to explore a new city while visiting a really good friend.  Also, I need some time to think.

The Holidays
I can’t wait for my “real” winter break to begin.  It hasn’t really begun yet I don’t think.  I still feel like I’m in limbo, waiting between realms while wishing I can just do absolutely nothing without having to worry about anyone or anything.  Sorry everyone. I want to bake something for someone, but I think people would think it weird if random baked goods...

Life
It ain’t fair sometimes and the truth is ugly.  Let’s hope this night is a fun one because this week has been so tiring.  I have to write a 10-12 page paper about puppets.  Egads.  How in the world am I going to accomplish this I don’t know…all I know is that I most certainly do not want to work right now.  Instead, it is time to watch some Glee.

Conversations
Yesterday was a rather interesting day, for a number of reasons.  I had various conversations about death, friendship, marriage and I have no idea what else with different people.  It’s started me thinking about some things.  I am interested in how others view these topics.  I’ve never really talked about death with someone before.  It was kind of nice in a way because I guess people...

Updated Christmas List
I received my cousin’s birthday present in the mail finally (yeah, my birthday is July 12…it’s December 1…) and it was MAD MEN SEASON 2!  So I had to update my list and cross that one off. 1. Any type of baking utenstil (frosting tips, spatulas, mixing bowls etc. etc.) 2. Any baking cookbook (preferably about cupcakes, but I’m not picky) OR you could buy one of these: -...
